Roger Finnell

Roger was the Mathematics Department chair at Fenwick High School since 1974.  He has since retired as department chair but still coaches the math team. The longest ranking member of the MTA board, he has served since 1968.  He currently moderated the MTA math competition. Roger also acts as the AA Division Statistician for the Illinois State Math Contest.  He has held this post since 1985.

 

Thomas Wegesin

Thomas has been teaching at DeLaSalle Institute since 2003.  He received a Bachelors degree in both mathematics and history from Lewis University and earned his Masters of Mathematical Education from DePaul University in 2009.  Thomas has been an MTA board member since 2012 and President of the MTA since 2015.

Marynell Begeske

Marynell is a product of Chicago Area Catholic Education.  She attended St. Nicholas of Tolentine Grade School, Queen of Peace High School, St. Xavier University, where she earned her BS with a major in mathematics and a minor in education, and earned her MA in math education at DePaul University.  Marynell was honored the Heart of the School Award by the Chicago Archdiocese while teaching math at Longwood Academy and has been teaching math at Providence Catholic High School since 1999. 

Jeff Nicholson

Jeff Nicholson has been teaching at Marist High School for 25 years. Before that he taught at St. Joseph High School in Westchester, where he first became an MTA board member. He has served in this capacity on the MTA for over 30 years. He received his MST in Mathematics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. He also is the Head Coach of the Math, Academic, and Girls Bowling Teams at Marist.

Andrew Reuland

Andrew started teaching in 1999 after completing his B.S. in Mathematics at University of Notre Dame.  Andrew holds masters degrees in Secondary Education and Instructional Leadership and defended his dissertation in School Administration in 2012.  Andrew has worked at St. Rita High School, Chicago Academy for the Arts, Fenwick High School, and CICS Northtown Academy and Mother McAuley Liberal Arts High School. He currently teaches and coaches part of the math team at Fenwick High School.
